The moon itself is a perfect catalyst and energizer to charge selenite crystals and other powerful crystals, but the full moon, new moon, or an eclipse offers additional energy.

To charge your crystal with energy, imagine a white light surrounding your crystal. This pure light comes from your energy centers, heart, groin (root chakra), and top of your head (crown chakra).

You want to do this gently and not scratch your selenite since it’s a very soft crystal. Once done, gently wipe it with a dry towel.

Though you can’t and shouldn’t cleanse in water, as in submerging it, you can spritz it with Florida water, holy water (water blessed by you), moon water, or herbal cleansing water. Very little water.

Only do this if you don’t have any other option and know how much water to use. Too much water will “dissolve” and soften your selenite, so it’s best not to use water.

But sometimes it might be all you have! If you still mist or spritz very lightly with cleansing waters, please remember that your selenite can dissolve if it stays in the water, is submerged in water, or is in enough water. In fact, on the Mohs hardness scale, it scores a whopping 2. Meaning it’s one of the softest crystals — you can scratch it with your fingernail!
