In this article, we will tell you all you need to know about numerology and how you can calculate your numerology numbers.
What Is Numerology?
Numerology numbers: To summarize, numerology studies the numbers that define a person’s life. These numbers come from a person’s full name and date of birth and, as a result, provide unique insights. Numerology helps people to understand both themselves and the world better.
Numerologists believe that the universe is a system made up of numbers. If you already have some knowledge of astrology, numerology can help in clarifying your sign even further. Pythagorean numerology is regarded as the most accurate form of numerology today. However, there are a few other types.

Is Numerology Real?
Numerology numbers: Though modern-day numerology isn’t backed by scientific evidence, it originated from one of the greatest philosophers and mathematicians ever. Pythagoras discovered that numbers possess vibrational energy and created a system that matches letters and numbers.
Just like in astrology, the accuracy of numerology readings depends on the skill and experience of the numerologist. An experienced numerologist can provide accurate information about your character and life path.
What Are the 5 Numerology Numbers?
Numerology numbers are split into five core numbers. The numbers are calculated with different information, so each has a unique number. They include:
- Your Life Path Number
- Your Expression Number
- Your Soul Urge Number
- Your Personality Number
- Your Birthday Number
How Do I Find My Numerology Number?
This section will go through the core numbers and how you can calculate them.
1. Life Path Number
Numerology numbers: The numerology life path number is the first and most essential aspect of numerology numbers. It is calculated using a person’s date of birth. Like the Sun Sign in Astrology, your Life Path Number will tell you who you are. It will tell you your strengths, weaknesses, skills, and desires.
Your Life Path Number will also help you understand your past, present, and future experiences. To calculate this number, you must analyze your birth date until you get the root number. The root number has to be a single-digit number, with the only exceptions being double-digit numbers such as 11, 22, or 33. These numbers are Master Numbers, but we will get to that later.
Now, let’s assume you were born on the 24th of April 1974. You must add the numbers in your date of birth until you arrive at a single digit.
The day is the 24th, which is a two-digit number. Hence, it has to be converted to a single digit.
2 + 4 = 6
April is the 4th month of the year. Since it is already a single digit, you leave it as it is.
Hence, April = 4
The year is 1974. You have to add the numbers together.
Hence, 1 + 9 + 7 + 4 = 21
It is still not a single digit. So, you have to add the numbers together again.
Hence, 2 + 1 = 3
Now, let’s add the different components of your birth date together to get your Life Path Number.
6 + 4 + 3 = 13
Finally, 1 + 3 = 4
Your Life Path Number is 4.
You don’t have to be a great mathematician to do this calculation yourself. All you have to do is follow our instructions to the letter.
Here is a video explaining how you can calculate your Life Path Number.
2. Expression Number
The Expression Number is sometimes called the Destiny Number in numerology and is calculated using the letters in a person’s name. While your Life Path Number tells you about your purpose in life, your Expression Number will tell you how to achieve your goals.
To help us calculate our Expression Numbers, Pythagoras assigned a numerical value to certain groups of letters. Let’s take a look at these letters and their numerical values below:
A, J, S= 1
B, K, T = 2
C, L, U = 3
D, M, V = 4
E, N, W = 5
F, O, X = 6
G, P, Y = 7
H, Q, Z = 8
I, R = 9
With this chart, you will be able to calculate the root number of your names and, in doing so, discover your destiny number. Remember to use your first, middle, and last name.
For instance, let’s assume that your names are Ivy Belle Isaac. Add the corresponding numbers of the letters together to get the root number.
Ivy (9 + 4 + 7) = 20
Then, 2 + 0 = 2
Belle (2 + 5 + 3 + 3 + 5) = 18
Then, 1 + 8 = 9
Isaac (9 + 1 + 1 +1 + 3) = 15
Then, 1 + 5 = 6
Destiny Number = 2 + 9 + 6 = 17
Finally, 1 + 7 = 8
3. Soul Urge Number
Numerology numbers: Another name for the Soul Urge Number in numerology is the Heart’s Desire Number. As its name suggests, this number will reveal your innermost desires. It will give you a deeper understanding of your desires, motivation, and destiny.
The Soul Urge Number is also easy to calculate as you only need the vowels in your name. Each vowel has its unique numerical value. This is how the values are assigned:
A = 1
E = 5
I = 9
O = 6
U = 3
Y = 7 (in special situations)
Though the letter “Y” is known to be a consonant, it is sometimes used as a vowel. For instance, the letter is a vowel named “Billy.” So, it has to be counted as 7. You can check out similar cases in the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
Here is an example:
Billy Joe Harvey
9 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 1 +5 + 7 = 40
Then, 4 + 0 = 4
4. Personality Number
Numerology numbers: The Personality Number is another core aspect of Numerology Numbers, and it is calculated using the consonants in a person’s name. It will help you understand the image you project to the world and how people view you.
To find your Personality Number, write down your full name: i.e., your first, middle, and last name. After that, convert the consonants to numbers using the chart below:
J, S = 1
B, K, T = 2
C, L = 3
D, M, V = 4
N, W = 5
F, X = 6
G, P, Y = 7
H, Q, Z = 8
R = 9
Let’s assume that your names are Anne May Brown. After converting the consonants to numbers, you will have the following:
5 + 5 + 4 + 7 + 2 + 9 + 5 + 5 = 42
Then, 4 + 2 = 6
Your Personality Number is 6
5. Birthday Number
Numerology numbers: The Birthday Number is a vital number that reveals a person’s best abilities and strongly influences people’s life journeys. To find this number, all you will need is your birth date.
Interestingly, the Birthday Number is the only core number in numerology that doesn’t have to be broken into a single-digit number. This makes the process of deriving it straightforward.
If your birth date is the 7th day of the month, your Birthday Number is 7. Also, your Birthday Number will be 22 if you were born on the 22nd. There is no need for reductions.
What Are Master Numbers in Numerology?
Numerology numbers: As we mentioned earlier, there are some double-digit numbers that you don’t reduce to a single number when carrying out numerological analysis.
A Master Number is a numerological number in which a figure appears twice. These numbers include 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, etc. However, the most powerful are the first three and are highly influential when appearing anywhere on our chart.
Each Master Number has a specific spiritual significance and triggers a higher level of consciousness. As a result, those with Master Numbers have considerable roles to play in the world but must first be awakened. This isn’t a straightforward process. However, it becomes easier when these people understand the messages being sent by their Master Numbers.
Throughout history, people with these numbers have achieved great success in various fields of life and positively impacted the world. Some have been successful in politics, some in entertainment, and some have attained great financial success. Some famous names include Albert Einstein, Barack Obama, and Paul McCartney.
